The Post-Lip Blush Rules
Days 1-14...
KEEP YOUR LIPS MOISTURIZED by applying Aquaphor morning, afternoon and night. Apply Aquaphor whenever the lips feel dry.
Gently clean your lips by dabbing them with unscented baby wipes prior to each time you apply Aquaphor. Ensure all excess lymph or ointments are cleaned away and dry by gently patting. This will not remove the pigment. Dab the lips, do not wipe them.
Do not use any cleaners containing acids or exfoliants for two weeks.
Apply a rice grain size of Aquaphor to your lips whenever they feel dry. DO NOT let them dry out or it will cause excess peeling. DO NOT over-apply the Aquaphor. The lips need to be able to breathe under the Aquaphor.
Avoid salty and spicy foods for two weeks. Use a straw while drinking for two weeks. This helps preserves the pigment during the healing process.
Avoid exercise and direct sun for two weeks.
Avoid long, steamy showers and swimming for two weeks.
Do not wear any make-up or use skincare on your lips for two weeks.
Things to consider once your lips are done...
Use a clean pillowcase and sleep on your back for at least two weeks.
No picking!
No facials, botox, lip injections, or peels for four weeks
Remember, your lips aren't finished until after the second session. Please schedule your retouch appointment four to six weeks after your initial appointment.
The healing process of lip blushing is similar to that of a tattoo. You’ll see swelling and redness, which you can help treat with ice or cold compress.
As your lips start to heal, the skin may scab for about a week. Do not pick at these scabs — this may cause scarring and uneven tone as your lips heal.
Place Aquaphor on your lips for relief and protection.
Don’t worry if your lips look darker than you anticipated; this is a normal side effect that will wear off as your lips heal.
Expect to see full results from lip blushing in four to six weeks.
Keep your lips clean and dry of any fluid that may present itself after the treatment. If too much lymph fluid, water, or sweat accumulates it can form a thick scab, which will lead to uneven color results once healed.
